San José del Cabo Art Walk: Thursday Nights in the Gallery District

The San José del Cabo Art Walk runs every Thursday from 5 to 9 pm in the Gallery District, from its fall opening (October or November) through June.

When. Thursday nights, 5 to 9 pm, for the whole season. The Gallery District Association sets the opening date each fall: some years it's October, some years early November. June is the last month. In summer the walk stops, though individual galleries keep their own hours.

What it is. The galleries in San José's old town stay open into the evening, and people walk between them. There's no ticket and no set route. Most of the work is by Mexican and Baja-based artists, and several galleries will ship a piece home for you if you buy something too big for a suitcase.

From us. We're out on the East Cape, so the Art Walk is an evening in town rather than a stroll from the door. Arrive a little before 5 if you want the galleries before the street fills up, and have dinner in town afterwards. A car makes this easier; if you don't have one, our concierge can help you plan the evening. Write to concierge@nestbaja.com or message +52 1 624 141 8729 on WhatsApp.
